Growing up, my grandfather was one of my favorite companions. I was fortunate enough to live just a few blocks from my grandparents, and I invited myself over to their place a lot. Often, the two of us would go for hikes up and down the hills around my home town of San Luis Obispo, California. Sometimes, though, we would stay at home and draw. My grandfather was an amateur painter in his later years and he first taught me the art of stick-man drawing. He showed me how to keep my crayons from going outside of the lines in my dinosaur coloring book. He taught me how beautiful color is - lots of color - and how those coloring books really scream for lots and lots of different colored crayons to splash their pages. My grandfather was no Norman Rockwell or Pablo Picasso, but he set my feet on the wild road of creative exploration.
In 1993, with a degree in graphic design, I formed Bearing the Light. Since that time, I have provided graphic services to southwest Montana and beyond. In 2000, I jumped into the chaotic pool of web development, focusing on creating attractive and highly functional web sites that not only work really well, but can also be found on the web. These three services - graphic design, web development and web promotion - make Bearing the Light a full service creative enterprise.
In addition to my formal education in graphic design, I also graduated with a minor in Geology. Much of my inspiration I find being outdoors, and there is no better place on earth to be outdoors than in southwest Montana. Being out in God's Creation energizes and inspires. My recommendation to begin to tackle whatever issues you may be facing - whether in business or your personal life: go for a hike and soak it in.
Bearing the Light is a Christian one-man show. In short, the name "Bearing the Light" is a transliteration of the meaning of my first name, as well as my mission. Bearing (revealing) the Light of the World, through my life and hard work, is my desire. My clients include businesses, individuals, non-profits, schools and churches. I work hard with integrity and honesty. I value all of my customers and work hard to satisfy them. Contact me with your latest project. Let's sit down over an iced chai and talk about what you need to promote your business or cause.
Thanks for visiting the site. I look forward to working with you!
